Ending 2024 in Style: Celebrating our New Skyline Studios

We’re not just gearing up to celebrate a wonderful Christmas and the New Year here at TheStudios, we’re also popping the champagne corks to mark the end of the construction of our Skyline Studios at 24 Birch Street – our high rise haven is finally complete!

Ever since we acquired the building in 2017, we’ve been working floor by floor to convert this former corporate office into a luxury, affordable co-living hub and as of the opening of our new Skyline Studios on December 11^th, the work is now done. This marks the start of an exciting new phase here at TheStudios, but before we look ahead, let’s take a moment to look back over the last 12 months…

A Look Back at 2024 at TheStudios

We’ll always look back to 2024 as one of our greatest years to date for our ongoing social engagement calendar here at TheStudios. Building a true sense of community is our biggest goal and you supported this in your hundreds throughout the year. Kicking off at the very start, we rang in the year with our traditional New Year’s Eve party, and since then we have held quiz nights, birthday celebrations and themed karaoke events in our lively bar area, along with our seasonal menu and drinks updates across the months.

We’ve welcomed live performers into the building to keep us all entertained, including the always-popular Black Country singer Josh Carter. We’ve had summer BBQs, autumn Halloween events including the pumpkin carving contest and just recently our pre-Christmas party on the 30^th November. As this blog reaches you, we’ll be just about to host our Sunday Pool League Presentation Night too. We hope you’ve enjoyed our program of events and we look forward to surpassing this next year – keep an eye on our monthly email newsletter to be the first to know what’s on in 2025.

The Big Build: Completing the Skyline Studios

Construction may have started relatively recently on our new Skyline Studios, but they’ve been in planning for almost as long as we’ve been in the building. Not only are they our most spacious and luxury studios, but we also had to build a whole new floor on the roof of the original building to realise the vision we had for them. There are 26 Skyline Studios in total, most of which are already awaiting their first residents, and two of which actually span both the 12^th and 13^th floors, with an ‘upstairs’ mezzanine bedroom. Each one is unique in layout, has a modern kitchenette and is entered via a smart lock that is controlled by smartphone app. And the views are just stunning.

The final floors of the building were opened on December 11^th at a hugely successful event that was attended by staff, over 50 local businesses, local councillors and the Mayor of Wolverhampton.If you are interested in moving into a Skyline apartment, make sure you apply as soon as possible as interest is high and availability severely limited!

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for TheStudios?

As per tradition, we’re hosting our annual New Year’s Eve party to welcome in 2025. This ticket-only event promises live entertainment, refreshments and a festive atmosphere to ring in the new year with residents and guests, so make sure you’ve reserved your place if you’re coming down.

Beyond this, we’re looking forward to bringing you our busiest and best program of events yet in 2025. With a full building of residents, the community vibe only looks set to grow, and we’ll be meeting this head on with regular special events, more special movie seasons, guest beers and seasonal dishes in the restaurant along with exciting live events and so much more. We can’t wait to share with you what we have planned!

All that remains to be said is thank you for making life at TheStudios so enjoyable in 2024.
