Humble Beginnings
What was once the tallest tower in the city of Wolverhampton is now home to the largest community of individuals that enjoy luxury living.
Built in the 1960s, our Birch Street tower was once the home of a large multinational facilities management company but was left vacant in early 2015. The tower was then acquired in the latter half of 2017, with a £10 million residential conversion scheme by developer and finance executive Barry Glantz, backed by Assetz Capital. The ambition was to create elegant yet affordable studio apartments for those looking to rent a flat in Wolverhampton.

May 2016
After acquiring the keys to the tower in January 2016, extensive works began in May of that year to convert Birch Street Tower from a commercial building into a luxury residential block, founded around the principle of community living.

May 2018
Two years of hard work later, the tower reopens as TheStudios and welcomes its very first residents to the completed second floor. At the same time as the grand reopening, the bar area is also complete and serves its first drinks and meals.

July 2018 to March 2020
The third floor opened in July 2018, joined by the first floor in January 2019. By the end of 2019, all floors up to the seventh are complete and TheStudios welcomes even more new residents into the newly completed apartments. The gym opened in March 2020.

November 2020 Onwards
All but the topmost floors were opened to residents by the end of 2020, and our luxury cinema room was completed in November 2021. In 2024 TheStudios fully converted the top floor with the introduction of the new Skyline Studios accommodation!
