With the Oscar Nominations having just been announced, and a seemingly endless supply of films coming out at the moment, both in cinemas and on streaming platforms, it seems that what to watch and what not to watch is all anyone can talk about, with certain films garnering a lot of hype. And whilst it’s not possible to watch EVERY new film that’s been released over the last few months (there are a lot), with your very own luxurious, state-of-the-art cinema right downstairs in your own home, offering Sky, Netflix, and Apple TV, there’s no excuse for not at least trying! So, whether you’re looking for comedy, mystery, drama, action, or fantasy, we’ve got you covered! Here are five recently-released films that you can watch in TheStudios’ very own cinema!

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Platform: Netflix

The long-awaited sequel to the much-loved and critically-acclaimed Knives Out, Glass Onion is maybe the most hyped new release at the moment – and you can watch it right now in your very own cinema! Something of an Agatha Christie whodunnit for the 21st Century, this is definitely a must-see.

All Quiet on the Western Front

Platform: Netflix

Not for the faint of heart, this Oscar-nominated German film is beautiful, tragic, hopeful, and profound. Following a young man’s struggle in the trenches during World War 1, this masterpiece shows the true physical and psychological horrors of war, and is sure to bring home several awards, as well as make many cry in the process.

Top Gun: Maverick

Platform: Sky (from the 5th of February)

Also Oscar-nominated, Top Gun: Maverick sees Tom Cruise return as Pete Mitchell, everyone’s favourite naval aviator, in the very, very long-awaited sequel to the much-loved original Top Gun from 1986. If you’re a fan of fight scenes, epic cinematography, and, of course, Tom Cruise, this is definitely the one for you.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

Platform: Sky

From the most dedicated Potterheads to even casual fans of the fantasy genre, The Secrets of Dumbledore needs no introduction. With magic, mystery, nostalgia, action, and comedy, this return to one of the most beloved and well-built universes in history was made to be watched on the big screen.

Jurassic World: Dominion

Platform: Sky

Part of the franchise based on Steven Spielberg’s iconic and influential film Jurassic Park, Jurassic World: Dominion sees the return of the cult-classic dinosaurs we all know and love. With a star-studded cast, a timeless storyline, and awe-inspiring special effects, this is definitely a film for the ages. And whilst the dinosaurs might not exactly be life-size, the big screen is probably the closest you can get!
