And over the next few months, the city is bustling with a range of amazing events, performances, exhibitions, and showcases for you to see and enjoy! So whether you’re a culture enthusiast, or just looking for a guaranteed great day out, here are some options; have a read and see what takes your fancy!

Pop Parade

When: The 1st of January to the 31st of December

Where: Wolverhampton Art Gallery

Wolverhampton Art Gallery has the largest collection of Pop Art in the UK, and this year, they are showcasing it in their brand new exhibition, Pop Parade. Featuring works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein (whose prints you will find in the ground floor hallway of TheStudios!), and David Hockney, whether you’re an art person or not, this is sure to be an incredible experience.

Mamma Mia!

When: Thursday the 19th to Saturday the 28th of January

Where: Grand Theatre

Needing no explanation at all, Mamma Mia!, the jukebox musical with all our favourite ABBA hits, is coming to Wolverhampton! So, if you’re even a casual fan of musical theatre or ABBA, make sure you grab your tickets before they go!

Guz Khan Live

When: Sunday the 29th of January

Where: Grand Theatre

From our very own Coventry, the hilariously brilliant comedian Guz Khan is coming to Wolverhampton for one night only! So, if you’re a fan of his or just want a laugh, why not come along?!

Wolverhampton Literature Festival

When: Friday the 3rd of February to Sunday the 5th of February

With a whole host of events, including a Poetry Slam on Saturday the 28th of January at the Arena Theatre, ‘The Black Country in 50 minutes: 50 voices from 500 Years’ at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery on Saturday the 4th of February, and loads of talks and readings by local writers and artists, this is sure to be the cultural and literary event of the year! For any fans of poetry, literature, or culture, this is the place to be.

Wolverhampton Film Showcase

When: Sunday the 5th of February

Where: Arena Theatre

For all you film buffs, the Wolverhampton Literature Festival and Wolverhampton Film Festival have collaborated to bring you the wonderfully exciting Wolverhampton Film Showcase! An amazing opportunity to see some films inspired by and made in the city of Wolverhampton, this is not one to miss!

The Nutcracker
